This Old House In Massachusetts

April 19, 2012

The Emmy-award winning series This Old House will begin its 33rd season this October in Massachusetts with improvements to a Victorian-era home in the city of Cambridge and a woodland cottage, circa 1935, in rural Essex.

In the urban neighborhood of Avon Hill in Cambridge, homeowners Sally and John must preserve the exterior of their former two-family house, built in 1887, to comply with conservation district standards.

Near the marshes, farms, and woodland hills of Essex, Mass., homeowners Julie and John have a 1935 "Hansel-and-Gretel” style cottage, neglected over the years, that they hope to restore to its original character and use as in-law house for their parents.

Live, 24/7 progress of the Cambridge and Essex projects will be available in the coming days on Visito the show's website, to see a “before and after” photo gallery, project overview, products and services information, and a time-lapse archive ofthe projects’ progress.
