The WGBH Lab

WGBH LabThe WGBH Lab is a creative incubator. In an age where any screen — your TV, your computer, your cell phone, or PDA — is part of the media experience, we seek to develop content for these new "small screens."

The creative results of the Lab may appear on WGBH TV, wgbh.org and, as our partnerships expand, more broadly on PBS.

Pitch your story to Open Call, and take it from concept to completion. Sift through the Sand Box, loaded with rights-free archival footage. Or if you're ready to take your indie work to a new level, apply for a year as a filmmaker in residence.

Open Vault

For more than 25 years, the WGBH Media Library & Archives (MLA) has preserved, catalogued, and provided access to materials produced by WGBH.  The Archives currently houses more than 18,000 boxes of material, more than 750,000 items, and more than 200,000 audio, video, and film masters.
Open Vault provides online access to unique and historically important content from the WGBH MLA for individual and classroom learning. The ever-expanding site contains videos, searchable transcripts, and resource management tools.
